歌詞は、傷ついた人、落ちぶれた人が再び飛び立つ日、という内容。
blackbridは渡り鳥の黒歌鳥や、黒人を指す言葉のようで、解釈を限定しないようにブラックバードにしました。
The blackbird's mute～は、声を発さなくなったブラックバードが再び声を発することのできる日ということ。それが、鳴かなくなった鳥のことか、暗に声をあげられなくなった黒人のことを指しているかは考えどころです。
歌詞はライブ等では少し変わったり入れ替わったりすることがあります。
しかし、おおよそ意味は変わりません。
